Després d’haver observat les operacions de cirurgia reconstructiva i cirurgia estètica, la pintora figurativa Jenny Saville estava desitjosa d’expressar la violència i el dolor d’aquesta experiència en el seu propi treball. Ella i el fotògraf de moda Glenn Luchford van començar una col·laboració artística que captura tota la gamma de color, tonalitat i la topografia de la carn viva, en grans quadres fotogràfics que retraten el propi cos de Saville. Les distorsions confronten i obliguen a l’espectador a mirar el seu propi cos i veure les extravagàncies i les belleses inherents en ell. Les imatges també recorden a mostres biològiques conservades i desfigurades. [english] After having observed the operations of reconstructive surgery and aesthetic surgery, acclaimed figurative painter Jenny Saville was eager to express the violence and anesthetized pain of this experience in her own work. She and fashion photographer Glenn Luchford thus began an artistic collaboration that captures the full range of color, tonality, and topography of live flesh, in large photographic tableaux that portray Saville’s own body. Distortions confront and coerce the viewer into an examination of his or her own body and the grotesqueries and beauties inherent within; the images likewise recall biological specimens preserved, disembodied, and disfigured. The collusion of the art and fashion worlds has produced many hybrids in recent years, yet none perhaps none as intensely striking as this series.

L’obra més popular d’Ader és la seva peça I’m too sad to tell you (1970), que consisteix en un vídeo on l’artista plora davant d’una càmera. Encara que s’ha dit molt sobre l’estètica i la ironia de I’m too sad to tell you, la constant presència d’humor en la majoria de la seva obra juga un paper molt important. -Wikipedia.
